Consent order

Definition: A consent order is a court order that records an agreement, giving it the same legal force as an order made after a contested hearing.

A consent order is how a financial agreement reached in mediation becomes legally binding. A judge reviews it and, if it is fair, seals it.

The court fee to apply for a financial consent order is £62. A clean break can be included to end future claims between ex-spouses.
